The Royal Asiatic Society of Sri Lanka (RASSL) is one of the oldest 'modern' academic organizations in Sri Lanka established in 1845 with the objective of promoting Sri Lankan and related studies.

To institute and promote inquiries into the history, religions, languages, literature, arts, sciences and social conditions of the present and former peoples of Sri Lanka and connected culture.
